Don’t Be Too Close

There was a big truck in front of us. On the back of the truck, there were small Japanese characters. I became curious, so I tried to read the message, but it was too small. When the cars stopped at the red light, I finally could read it.

It said, “If you can read this, you’ve come too close. Keep the distance.” in Japanese.

I’ve heard from an audio-book in English, that it’s a popular message in USA. So popular that there is a Latin version too.

It says, “If you can read this, we must admit you’re very educated. But you are too close. Keep distance.”

I’m sorry that I forgot author and title of the book which told me the Latin version of the story. I am grateful if you have the information and let me know.

Thank you! Have a nice day!
